Welcome to Princeton Linux Users Group website

Princeton University has a strong and diverse population of Linux users with varied Linux knowledge and experience. PLUG, the Princeton Linux Users group, provides a forum to build a community of support and interaction to improve the Linux experience on campus and to welcome new users to this outstanding platform. This web site will serve as the focus of PLUG allowing users to share news, tips, and experiences as well as ask questions and learn more about Linux. As the group grows we look forward to meetings where we can discuss pertinent topics, present ideas and knowledge, and host outside speakers.

A major component of the positive Linux experience at Princeton University is the Elders/PU_IAS Linux distribution. Developed and maintained by Josko Plazonic (Math and PACM) and Thomas Uphill (IAS) the Elders distribution is currently based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
